رایج انگلیسی در کسب و کار (قسمت اول)

افرادی که در زمینه کسب و کار با تجارت با شرکت های خارجی در ازتباط هستند ممکن است که در نامه نگاری های خود با اصطلاحاتی روبرو شوند که بیشتر مختص موضوعات تجاری می باشند. دانستن اصطلاحات رایج در این زمینه می تواند کمک شایانی به درک درست و جملات و بهبود ارتباط با افراد مختلف منجر شود. در این مقاله تلاش کرده ام که شما را با یک سری از کلمات و عبارات های رایج در گفت و گوها ی تجارتی آشنا کنم.

• ۲۴ ساعت در روز و هفت روز هفته باز است
• 24/7

'24/7' means 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
مثال:
The convenience store on the corner is open 24/7.
اون فروشگاه در آن گوشه خیابان ۲۴ ساعته و هفت روز هفته باز است

• ASAP
• هرچه زودتر بهتر(در اسرع وقت)

'ASAP' is an acronym for 'as soon as possible.”
مثال:‌
I need to finish these reports. My boss needs them ASAP.
من باید این گزارشها را تمام کنم. رییس من آنها در اسرع وقت نیاز دارد

• at stake
• ریسکی

'At stake' means at risk.
مثال:
I’m a little nervous about giving this presentation. There's a lot at stake.
من یک مقدار عصبی هستم برای ارايه این گفتگو . خیلی ریسکیه

• back to the drawing board
• دوباره از اول طراحی کردن یا برنامه ریختن

To go 'back to the drawing board' means to start something over and go back to the planning stage.
مثال:
The prototype wasn't successful. We have to go back to the drawing board.
محصول اولیه موفق نبود. باید دوباره از اول شروع کنیم

• ballpark number/figure
• رقم تقریبی

A 'ballpark number' is a very inexact estimate.
مثال:‌
I'm not sure what a Super Bowl commercial costs, but to give you a ballpark figure I'd say about three million dollars.
من مطمئن نستم یک تبلیغ …چقدر عزینه می برد. اما بخوهم رقم تقریبی به تو بگویم فکر کنم ۳ میلیون درلار.
• call it a day
دیگه بسته کار برای امروز
To 'call it a day' means to decide to stop working for the day.
مثال:
Well, John, it's 7:00 and I'm getting hungry. How about we call it a day?
خب جان ساعت ۷ است . من دارم گرسنه می شوم. چطوره که کار رو متوفق کنیم برای امروز

• backroom deal
• توافق پشت در های بسته( مخفیانه)

A 'backroom deal' is an agreement or decision that is made without the public knowing about it.
مثال:
I think they got the government contract because of a backroom deal.
من فکر کنم آنها مخفیانه با دولت قرار داد بستند.

• easy come, easy go
• بادآورده را باد میبرد

'Easy come, easy go,' is an expression used to communicate that something gained easily is also lost easily. We often use this expression after something has been lost.
مثال:
A lot of people who inherit money waste it on stupid things. I guess it's easy come, easy go.
خیلی از مردمی که پول به ارث می برند آن را درچیزهای احمقانه هدر می کنند. من حدس می زنم که باد آورده را باد می برد.

• fifty-fifty
• پنجاه پنجاه (مساوی)

“Fifty-fifty” means something is divided equally -- 50% for one party, 50% for the other party.
مثال:

بریم کار را شروع کنیم
To 'get down to business' means to stop making small talk and start talking about serious topics related to business.
مثال:
Now that everyone's here, let's get down to business and talk about the proposal.
حالا که همه اینجا هستند بریم سر اصل مطلب و در مورد پیشنهاد صحبت کنیم
• give the thumbs down
رد کردن
To 'give something or someone the thumbs down' means to deny approval.
مثال
I can't believe she gave us the thumbs down. I thought it was a great idea.
من باورم نمیشه که او پیشنهاد ما را رد کرد. من فکر کردن ایده ما عالی بود.

• قبول کردن

To 'give something or someone the thumbs up' means to give approval.
مثال:
They gave our new proposal the thumbs up. We're going out to celebrate tonight.
آنها پیشنهاد ما را قبول کردند. ما قراره بریم بیرون جشن بگیریم

• in a nutshell
• خلاصه اینکه

'In a nutshell' means in a few words.
مثال:
In a nutshell, this book is about how to motivate employees.
به طور خلاصه. این کتاب در مورد این است که چطور کارمند ها را تشویق کنیم.

• win-win situation
• همکاری با سود و منفعت برای دو طرف

A 'win-win situation' is a situation where everyone involved gains something.
مثال:
We were happy to get the contract, and they were happy to get such a good price. It was a win-win situation.
ما خوشحال شدیم که قرداد را بستیم و آنها خوشحال شدند که این چنین قیمتی بدست آوردند. این یک همکاری با سود دو طرفه بود.
