IELTS Speaking Part 3 - Talking about the Future

Will and Going to

Usually in part 3 of the speaking test you will be asked to talk about the future in at least one of the questions (some of the questions in part 1 may also be about the future).
Will and going to are popular words to do this, so we will look at them, but there are some other ways too.
It is important to notice when a question is about the future so you can make sure that your response is also using the future tense.
Here are some example questions:

  • Do you think any new national celebrations will come into being in the future?
  • How do you think the internet will change people's buying habits in the future?
  • Do you think it will be more or less important to have a good education in the future?

Here is an explanation of will and going to and some other useful structures for discussing the future
Will

There are various uses of ‘will’, but in IELTS part 3 we can use it when we want to talk about future events that we believe are certain.
‘Will’ is followed by verb 1, or the infinitive.
Education will be more important in the future because as populations increase, there will be greater competition for jobs.
If you use ‘will’ on its own, this means you believe in what you are saying 100%, or you have 100% evidence to back up your claim.
You can add in a word like ‘definitely’ if as well if you want to emphsize your certainty even more:
Education will definitely be more important in the future because as populations increase, there will be greater competition for jobs.
If you are less certain (which is often the case as we usually don’t have evidence with us) then we use words such as 'maybe','perhaps', 'possibly', 'probably' and ‘likely’.
Education will probably be more important in the future because as populations increase, there will be greater competition for jobs.
Going to

Will and Going to are used in similar ways. We can use ‘going to’ to talk about a plan we have, but in the IELTS test part 3 we usually use it when we are making a prediction based on evidence we know of, often from what we can see in front of us.
Going to’ is followed by verb 1, or the infinitive.
The sky is very black (the evidence we can see). I think it’sgoing to rain. (not an IELTS example)
The internet is getting much easier to use and safer (the evidence), so I think it’s going to be very popular for buying clothes in the future.

The climate is going to become warmer and warmer because the government is not doing enough to prevent global warming.
Will or going to?

‘Will’ is more common for giving predictions about future events, so if you are unsure of the difference between them, just use ‘will’.
However, we often use will and going to inter-changeably. For example, in the sentences above we can swap them without affecting the meaning:
The climate will / is going to become warmer and warmer because the government is not doing enough to prevent global warming.

Education will probably / is probably going to be more important in the future because as populations increase, there will be greater competition for jobs.
Modal Verbs

In addtion to will and going to, another way to talk about the future is to use modal verbs such as ‘may’ and ‘might’.
Again, these are used when you are not certain about something. They have the same meaning.
I think education may become more important in the future, but it really depends on what happens to the job market.

The climate might get cooler in the future if we manage to restrict CO2 emissions.
Present Continuous

This is also used to talk about the future.
It is often used when we want to talk about what has been arranged for the future, so it may be less common for part 3 and more common for part 1, but it is still possible for some things you may want to say:
Our president is meeting the president of the USA next year, so hopefully they will discuss the problems of our country.
Will and Going to - Sample Answer

Here is a sample answer to a question:
How do you think the internet will change people's buying habits in the future?
Buying from the internet is becoming more and more popular. For example, we’ve seen many book shops close down because people can buy online at cheaper prices from sites such as Amazon. It makes life much easier if products can be delivered direct to our door, especially with our busy modern lifestyles. I think this will only increase in the future as more people feel safe to buy online and online shops make it easier to purchase this way. Also, I think our lives are only going to become busier, so more people will choose to shop this way

IELTS Speaking part 3: rivers, lakes, sea

IELTS Speaking part 3: rivers, lakes, sea

1. What do you think are the functions of rivers nowadays?
Rivers have various functions. In the UK, they were probably more important in the past because they
were used for the transportation of goods, but I suppose this is still the case in many parts of the
world. Rivers can be used as a source of renewable energy in the production of hydro-electric power,
and they are also a source of fresh water for drinking and irrigation. Leisure activities are another
function: fishing, canoeing, swimming, bathing... Im sure there are many other things I havent thought
of.
2. What do you think of boats and ships as forms of transportation?
Im not really a fan of boats and ships. If Im going abroad, I like to get to my destination quickly, so I
prefer travelling by plane. Of course, ships are vital for the transportation of oil and other heavy cargo.
3. Why do some people like to live near rivers, lakes or the sea?
Well, the view is probably a major factor; most people like to look out to sea, or across a river or lake. Id
much prefer to look out of my window onto a natural landscape than an apartment building in a city.
Then theres the lifestyle: if you live by the sea, for example, you can lie on the beach, go for a swim, or
do water sports like surfing or waterskiing. I definitely wouldnt mind living near a beach at some point in
my life!

What is your full name
How can I call you
Where are you living
How long have you been living there
Tell me about your hometown
Do you like watching news on TV or reading it in
news paper
How often do you watch movies
Tell me about your job
Do you like to meet people
Why did you choose your major
What do you do in your free time
Do you like spending holidays alone or with your family Why

Describe a city you have visited which has impressed you.
You can say:
The location of the city
Why you visited it
What you liked about this city

Talk about a friend whom you admire.
Talk about:
How long have you known her/him
How she /he influenced your life
Whether your parents like her/ him too

:Assessors's question
Do you think weddings are really necessary in the modern world?
Answer A: Weddings are necessary. Weddings are a tradition; they make parents happy.

Answer B: Yes, They are necessary. your family needs to follow traditions. It is a bad thing not to get married. It brings shame. It shows you are not serious about your life. You need to please your parents. Weddings help you do this.(بلند ، اما هنوز خیلی فشرده)

َAnswer C: They seem to be important even though they may not be completely necessary these days, because for a start, they enable a couple to show a public commitment to each other in front of their family and friends, which help them to feel supported when making such a big decision and furthermore, the couple can feel they are part of a long and honourable tradition in their society, while at the same time, of course, pleasing their parents.

...Hmm...that's an interesting questionbut not easy to answer quickly
?Do you mean,Are weddings legally necessary or just socially necessary

I'm not sure wxactly what that question is getting at.
I'll give you an example from my own experince. One of my close friends and his partner and not married and have never had a wedding and because of this. Idon't think they feel as connected to their family.
Assessor: It sounds as though you don't really trust the idea of marriage.

Candidate: Does it? Maybe you're right. I think it's definitely true that marriage seems more risky these days , as in this type of society people are more selfish, more independant and less respectful of tradition and so may ont feel so deeply connected to any promises they make.

"Thank you for your time. Good bye".
Introduction

Describe a beautiful garden that you like. You should say
- where it is
- what you can see there
- what people do there
and explain why you like it.

Here are some ideas:

1- Screen shot 2012-01-05 at 18.09.13The garden Im going to describe is famous because it belonged
to the French painter Claude Monet. Its in a place called Giverny, which is in northern France, about an
hour away from Paris in the province of Normandy.
2- There are actually two gardens at the Monet house in Giverny: a flower garden, and a Japanese
inspired water garden. Apparently, Monet designed the gardens himself; he even had the pond and the
famous Japanese bridge made. After creating the gardens, Monet painted some of the most well-
known paintings in the world, such as those of the waterlilies below the bridge on his pond.
3- Thousands of people visit the gardens at Giverny to see the magnificent scenes that inspired Monets
paintings. Visitors can walk around the gardens and take pictures, which is what I did when I went
there.
4- I like Monets gardens because they are such beautiful creations, and its amazing to see the real thing
having seen the famous paintings so many times.

In part 3 of IELTS speaking, you might be asked to compare the past with the present. The examiner
will be listening to your use tenses. For example:
Are there any differences between the types of people who were seen as celebrities in the
past and those who are celebrities nowadays?
Yes, I think there have been some big changes in the types of people who become famous. In the
past, before the invention of television, I suppose there were very few national or international
celebrities; maybe kings and queens, military, political and religious leaders were the only household
names. With the advent of TV and radio, performers such as actors and musicians became more well-
known. However, we now seem to have a completely new breed of celebrity as a result of reality
television programmes; these are people who dont really have any special skills as performers, but
who are famous for just being themselves.

Describe an aim or goal that you hope to achieve in the future.
You should say- what the aim is
- when you hope to achieve it
- what you need to do to reach your goal
- and why this goal is important to you. Here's my answer. Can you find any 'less common vocabulary' in it?
  • I’m going to describe a future aim of mine, which is to write a book. I’d like to write a novel, so the story or plot would be fictional, but it would probably be influenced by some of my own experiences, ideas and views.
  • Unfortunately I have no idea where to start or what my novel would be about, so I can’t imagine achieving this aim until later in my life. Maybe it will be something that I do as a hobby when I retire, or I might suddenly be inspired to start writing much sooner. It’s just a vague objective at the moment.
  • I think it must be extremely difficult to find the motivation to write a novel, so more than anything I would need time, commitment and the passion to keep working until I finished. I would probably need to set a goal of writing for a certain amount of time each day, and of course I’d need a good idea for a story in the first place.
  • This goal interests me because I’ve always wondered how people manage to create a work of fiction from nothing; I’ve always wondered whether I could do the same, and whether I’d be capable of bringing a story to life. I’ve always enjoyed reading, and I’d like to follow in the footsteps of my favourite authors.

Here are my answers to the questions in last weeks lesson.1) Do you think that its important for people to go on holiday?Answer using idea, explain, example
Yes, I think we all need to go on holiday at least once or twice a year. It isn’t healthy to work all year round without some time off to relax; we all need to take a break and recharge our batteries from time to time. Last summer, for example, I went on holiday to France for a couple of weeks, and it was great to leave all of my usual responsibilities behind me. I came home feeling really refreshed and reinvigorated.
2) Why do you think some people prefer not to go abroad on holiday?Answer using firstly, secondly, finally
I suppose there are different reasons why some people choose not to go abroad on holidays. Firstly, it’s usually more expensive to travel abroad than it is to stay at home. A second reason could be that some people find it stressful to spend time in a foreign country where they don’t speak the language, or where they feel that they can’t easily integrate with the locals. Finally, many people just love where they live, and don’t feel the need to travel abroad.

Here are three tips, one for each part of the speaking test.Part 1: stop and smile
For part 1 of the speaking test, you need to get used to giving short answers. Many students find it difficult to stop speaking, and the examiner is forced to interrupt. My tip is to give your answer then stop and smile, showing the examiner that you are ready for the next question. Part 2: tell a story
In the context of speaking part 2, a story is simply a long example to illustrate a point that you have made. If you’re describing a person, for example, you could tell a story to illustrate why you like him/her. People find it easy to keep speaking for longer when they have a story to tell. Part 3: include an ‘if...’ sentence
Look at technique number 2 in " IELTS Speaking Part 3: longer answers " . The alternatives technique helps you to say more, and it also encourages you to add a conditional if... sentence, which might help your grammar score.

Here are three simple tips that could make a difference to your score:1. Be confidentAlthough you might be nervous, try to speak clearly and confidently. Smile and be friendly* with the examiner. As you go into the exam, tell yourself that you have prepared well and that youre going to enjoy the challenge.2. Know that you are preparedYou will feel much more confident if you know that you have prepared and practised for the test. You should know exactly what to expect. For example, have you prepared some common topics (e.g. describe a place, a person, a hobby) for the short presentation? Are you ready for a past and a future question in part 3?3. Speak naturallyTry to enjoy a normal conversation with the examiner. Instead of worrying about your grammar, listen carefully to the questions and try to give natural answers. Most of the questions are about you, your life and your opinions, so its best to be open. I used to be an examiner, and I always found the job more interesting when students spoke openly about their opinions and experiences.*Note: You are not marked on body language, but Id still recommend that you try to act in a friendly, confident manner.

Usually in part 3 of the speaking test you will be asked to talk about the future in at least one of the questions (some of the questions in part 1 may also be about the future). Will and going to are popular words to do this, so we will look at them, but there are some other ways too.It is important to notice when a question is about the future so you can make sure that your response is also using the future tense.
[h=3]Will[/h]
There are various uses of ‘will’, but in IELTS part 3 we can use it when we want to talk about future events that we believe are certain.‘Will’ is followed by verb 1, or the infinitive.
[h=3]Going to[/h]
Will and Going to are used in similar ways. We can use ‘going to’ to talk about a plan we have, but in the IELTS test part 3 we usually use it when we are making a prediction based on evidence we know of, often from what we can see in front of us. ‘Going to’ is followed by verb 1, or the infinitive.
The sky is very black (the evidence we can see). I think it’s going to rain. (not an IELTS example)
The internet is getting much easier to use and safer (the evidence), so I think it’s going to be very popular for buying clothes in the future.

The climate is going to become warmer and warmer because the government is not doing enough to prevent global warming.
[h=3]Will or going to?[/h]

[h=3]Modal Verbs[/h]
In addtion to will and going to, another way to talk about the future is to use modal verbs such as ‘may’ and ‘might’.Again, these are used when you are not certain about something. They have the same meaning.
I think education may become more important in the future, but it really depends on what happens to the job market.

The climate might get cooler in the future if we manage to restrict CO2 emissions.
[h=3]Present Continuous[/h]
[h=3]Will and Going to - Sample Answer[/h]
Also, I think our lives are only going to become busier, so more people will choose to shop this way.

[h=1]Speaking About Change[/h]

Objectives: to examine and practice some ways of speaking about change.Often in part 3, you are asked to compare a situation now with the same situation in the past. Common time periods include; 20 years, 30 years, when your parents were young and when your grandparents were young.Examples:
  • How are the eating habits now in your country different from eating habits in the past?
  • Are the types of leisure activities that are popular today the same as those that were popular when your parents were young?
  • How have shopping habits changed over recent years?
  • Have the types of transport people use changed much over the last few decades?
This lesson will provide you with some useful grammar for speaking about change in the IELTS test, and how to spot these types of question._________________________________________________
[h=3][/h][h=3]Used to[/h]
One way of describing how things have changed is to use “used to”. We use it to refer to facts or situations that were true in the past but are not true now. When the change occurred is not important.Example:
“Vietnam used to be a colony of France, (but now it is independent)”

“Jimmy Carter used to be the President of the United States, (but now he isn’t.)”
This can, of course be used to give personal information.
“I used to smoke, (but I gave up 2 years ago.)”

“Mike used to be a detective in the CID, (but now he’s a teacher)”
_________________________________________________
[h=3][/h][h=3]Comparatives[/h]
In these types of questions the function being tested is “compare”, so using comparatives is obviously a good way of answering the question and speaking about change.Example:
"Thirty years ago, the streets were much quieter than now.”

“I think that reading was much more popular in the past.”
When talking about how things are different now, the present perfect is often used as well as the present simple.
“The streets have become much noisier.” (Notice, a time is not needed)

“Reading is much less popular than it was in the past.”
_________________________________________________
[h=3][/h][h=3]Speculation[/h]
Particularly for some of the longer periods, you may not be sure of exactly how things have changed and it is all right to speculate.“Would” can be used for strong speculation.Example:
“It would have been harder for my grand father to find out about international news, because there was no radio or T.V in his village.”

“In the past, people would have traveled less often.”
When you are not so sure you can use other words. (perhaps, possibly, might, may, etc.)
I’m not sure but, perhaps, they might have studied less science thirty years ago”

Possibly, in my father’s day, people could have played more sport.”
_________________________________________________
[h=3][/h][h=3]Question types[/h]
Questions about changes tend to be phrased in ways like these:
“How do you think … is different from thirty years ago?”

“In what ways has … changed from when your parents were young?

“How is … different from twenty years ago?”
Of course, the examiner may choose to word the question in other ways.

Cue Card[/h]

[h=3]Speaking for Two Minutes[/h]
In the IELTS speaking part 2, you will be given a topic by the examiner, and you have to speak for two minutes. Some students find it difficult to do this, so there are some tips in this lesson to help you extend your long-turn.Lets imagine that you are given this IELTS speaking part 2 question:
Describe someone who has had an important influence on your life. You should say:
Who the person is
How long you have known him/her
What qualities this person has
Explain why they have had such an influence on you.
Firstly, you must talk about the topic on the card. However, if you only talk about the specific questions on the card, you may find that you finish too soon.As long as you keep to the topic, it is ok to talk about other things. Here are two things you can do in the minute you have before you speak to help you find more to say for the IELTS speaking part 2.
[h=3]1. Use other ‘question’ prompts[/h]
These are question prompts:
Who
What
When
Where
How
Why
When you prepare, write down the other question prompts that are not on the list, and think of things you can say about those as well. For example:
When - When did you meet?
Where – Where did you meet?
[h=3]2. Think of a Story[/h]
You can also tell a story about the person, place, event or thing you are discussing. So in your one minute, think of and note down a quick and preferably interesting story to tell about the topic. You can tell the story anywhere in your IELTS speaking part 2, as long as it fits in.

[h=3]Example IELTS Speaking Part 2[/h]
The person I’m going to talk about today is my teacher from high school. (who) Her name was Miss Chadwick and she taught quite a few subjects at the school. She had been working there for quite a few years when I met her I think. (where) We met for the first time in my English class. (more about ‘who’) I remember this well because she was quite young compared to most of the other teachers in the school so I was surprised that she was a teacher! In fact she looked more like she could be one of the older students! (How long) So I met her when I was 15, and that was 10 years ago. I don’t actually know her anymore as we lost contact soon after I left the school, but I still remember her very well for several reasons.(What qualities) Firstly, she was very kind. She always treated all the students very well in the class, and I can’t remember her ever shouting at anyone. Also, she had a really good sense of humour. She would make jokes in the class which most of the other teachers never did. The other teachers were very serious all the time. And she made the classes a lot of fun and very interesting, something that I think is very important otherwise you start to get bored. Oh, and also she explained things very well and very clearly. Often teachers are not able to do this in a way that students can understand, especially when it's complicated subjects. So those are the qualities that she had. (why such an influence)The reason she had such an important influence on me is because I was quite a shy person at school and not very confident, but she helped me to change this. (tell a story) Each year, there was a school play that would be held in front of all the parents, and that year, when I was 15, Miss Chadwick was organizing and directing the play. I really didn't want to be in it because I was so shy, but Miss Chadwick insisted that I take one of the roles, and it was one of the main roles which meant that I would have to do a lot of speaking! I was so nervous. Anyway, I went ahead and did it, and on the night I did really well and really enjoyed it. And that really boosted my confidence and this has helped me to this day. So my teacher Miss Chadwick is the person who has influenced my life and I will never forget her.

[h=3]Hometown[/h]
Where is your hometown? My hometown's in Hanoi, which is the capital city of Vietnam. It's located in the north of the country, not really that far from the southern Chinese border. Is there much to do in your hometown?Oh yes, there's certainly lots to do there as it's a fairly big city. If you like going out in the evening there are a lot of good restaurants and bars. If you prefer cultural activities there are museums and art galleries. But if you like nature there are lots of other things outside of the city which are easy to reach. What are the people like in your hometown? They are mostly quite friendly, but as with most big cities everyone is often busy so it may seem as if they are not interested in speaking or having a chat. But if you live there you know that most people are quite happy to have a chat if they have time and will help you if needed.___________________________________________________
[h=3]Studies[/h]
What are you studying at the moment?I'm studying history at university. It's a four year course, and I started it three years ago, so I have just one year left. I'm enjoying it a lot so it will be sad to finish. What do you like most about your studies? We learn about many things from the past such as politics and wars, but I like learning about how people lived in the past the most. It's amazing to see how our lives have changed so much from the past up until now. In some ways our lives have got much easier now, but in other ways the simplicity of life in the past made people much happier. Learning about all that is fascinating. What do you hope to do in the future when you have finished?I'm not sure at the moment, but I may go into teaching. This is why I'm doing the IELTS, as I intend to carry on and do a Masters in a specific area of history. I'll probably decide for sure what to do when I have completed that.___________________________________________________
[h=3]Work[/h]
What is your job?I currently work as an office manager at a large marketing company. I've been in the job for about five years now. I'm usually assigned to work with a specific business in order to improve their sales through various marketing strategies.Do you have to work with other people?Oh yes, all the time. It's a big office and we all have to work as a team if we want to achieve results. I have colleagues I need to liaise with such as the graphic designers and I also have administration staff who work under me. And of course I also have to work alongside the companies that we provide marketing for. So yes, I definitely have to work with other people.Do you think you will change jobs in the future?Well, that's not something I'm thinking about at the moment as I really enjoy what I do and it's a really good company to work for. The pay is good and they have other good benefits such as flexi-time and end of year bonuses. But that said, change is always a good thing, so I can't see me being there forever. I'm sure I will change one day.___________________________________________________
[h=3]Leisure time[/h]
What do you like to do in your free time?I do quite a lot of sport actually. I play football mostly - on Wednesday nights and Sunday afternoon with a local team. I also play tennis and squash when I can but I don't really get the time to do them as well every week. I work quite hard at the moment, so I don't get a lot of free time unfortunately.Have your leisure activities changed since you were a child? Not a great deal actually. I used to love playing football when I was young as well - I played a lot at school. Though of course I did all the other things kids loved to do such as going out on bike rides after school and things.Do you prefer to spend your free time alone or with other people? It depends on my mood really. I think most people need some time on their own. Sometimes my work is quite stressful and I spend a lot of time there with others, so it's good to just get home and relax and read a book or something. But I get bored if I am alone too much so I like to go out and meet friends in the evening or play football.___________________________________________________
[h=3]Trains[/h]
Do you like to travel by train?Yes, I quite like them. If you are on a train you can relax and look out the window, read, use your lap top - it's all quite comfortable. On the bus it's more difficult to do those things because there is less space and the movement can make you travel sick too. The only problem with trains in my country is that they are often delayed or late. That can ruin your journey.Where do you usually go by train? It's usually on long trips across the country if I want to visit friends or I have an appointment somewhere. For short journeys around where I live or to work it's much easier to drive or take the bus. As I said before, you can do things such as read on the train so it's good for long journeys. When was the last time you travelled by train?Er....I'm not quite sure, let me think. It was a while ago now. I think the last time was last year when I went up to see some friends I had not seen for a while in the north of the country. Yes, that was it. It was a journey of about 3 hours and I had to change trains once during the journey. The first train was a bit crowded and noisy as I think there were people on there going to a football match, but it was an ok trip most of the way..___________________________________________________
[h=3]Time[/h]
Are you good at managing your time?Actually I'd say I'm not too good! I don't really have a system in place to organize things. I know some people have an electronic organizer or use some device to plan what they are doing but I don't do that. But I always make sure I am on time for appointments and things like that, and I meet deadlines and get things done. How do you manage your time?As I said, I don't have any specific system in place to manage my time. For example, if I am at work and I have a lot of cases, I just go through them each day and decide which I need to tackle first. At work we do have an online diary which I guess I use, so in that sense I do manage my time to an extent. When is it most important for you to manage your time?I think it is probably when you are at work. When out of work, it's not really going to affect things too much, or at least only yourself, if you are late to meet friends or for an appointment, or if you are getting things done in your house. But at work, it will cause problems if you don't manage your time effectively because you could miss deadlines or miss appointments. You could lose your job. So at work is when it is most important to manage your time.___________________________________________________
[h=3]Books[/h]
What kind of books do you like to read?I mostly like to read biographies. I'm not sure why but it is interesting to read about people's real lives, especially when they have had interesting lives and have had to deal with many problems. I do read fiction as well, but I often find it difficult to get hold of a book that I really like. I also like reading about books to do with current affairs.Do you read the same kind of books now that you read when you were a child? Not really, no. Actually I didn't read that much when I was a child, but if I did it was mainly fiction books, such as fairy tales. Things like The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Fantasy things. When do you think is the best time to read?I think any time is ok, but when I read I like to concentrate, so I can't read for a short time like on a bus ride like some people do. I like to put time aside to enjoy it. So if I have some free time at the weekend I might read for a few hours. And I nearly always read before I go to bed - this really helps me to sleep.___________________________________________________
[h=3]Art Galleries[/h]
Are there many art galleries where you live? No, not that I know of. I live in a small town so I don't think there are any, though we do have a few museums and other cultural institutions. In our capital city there are quite a few art galleries, however.Did you like to go to art galleries when you were a child?I've never been that interested in art to be honest, so not really. We were taken to one as part of a trip when I was at school. It has a lot of paintings from famous artists from our country. It was quite interesting to see I guess but I've not been to any since.Should people have to pay to go to art galleries?I think it depends really. If possible they should be free because if people do have to pay they are less likely to go and see it. But on the other hand these things cost money so a small fee may be necessary if it can keep the art gallery going and keep it open. Ideally though the government should pay for this as I believe this kind of thing is paid for by our taxes.___________________________________________________
[h=3]Swimming[/h]
Can you swim?Yes I can. I learnt at school when I was about 7 years old. Swimming lessons were compulsory at our school, like most schools I think. Are there many places to swim near you?Yes, there are a few public swimming pools. There is the main indoor one at a big sports complex in the center of town. There are also a couple of outdoor ones, but you can only use them in summer as it is be too cold in winter. One is a big one in a park, the other is a much smaller one.Do you think everyone should learn to swim?Of course, I think it's very important. Firstly, you spend much of your life on holiday by water, for example, when you go to the beach on holiday, so you won't be able to enjoy yourself with your friends if you can't swim. Also, for safety reasons it's very important. You often hear about sad accidents involving young children so it's very important.

Its fine to give negative answers in part 1 of the speaking test. Here are some example negative answers for people who dont like sport:1. What sports or physical activities do you regularly do?Unfortunately I dont have time to do any sports or physical activities because of my work commitments. Id like to find more time for regular exercise.2. Which sport or game would you like to be good at?Id like to be good at tennis. It must be great to be able to hit the ball as hard as you can and watch it land exactly where you wanted it to.3. Do you prefer watching or playing sports?I dont watch much sport on TV and Im not a big sports fan, so I think I would probably enjoy doing sports more than watching them.4. Do you think children should be encouraged to do more sport?Yes, I think that sport is really important for children. Sports and games teach children to play together and try their best.

[h=1]معرفی آزمون Speaking و تکنیک های آن[/h]

What is your full nameHow can I call youWhere are you livingHow long have you been living thereTell me about your hometownDo you like watching news on TV or reading it innews paperHow often do you watch moviesTell me about your jobDo you like to meet peopleWhy did you choose your majorWhat do you do in your free timeDo you like spending holidays alone or with your family Why

I think it's definitely true that marriage seems more risky these days , as in this type of society people are more selfish, more independant and less respectful of tradition and so may ont feel so deeply connected to any promises they make.

http://www.www.www.iran-eng.ir/Data/Articles/Items/2013/8/1001962.jpg

"Thank you for your time. Good bye".
Introduction

[h=1]IELTS Speaking: 'future aim' answer[/h]
